Selected Recommendations, Approved by President-elect Reagan, Jan 6, 1981

Following RR’s election in 1980, Robert Carleson headed the transition at the Dept. of HHS. On January 6, 1981, he presented President-elect Reagan with a series of recommendations for reforming several welfare programs, particularly Aid to Families With Dependent Children (AFDC). President-elect Reagan approved all of the proposals and indicated so with his initials “R.R.” and “OK”.
